Live Love Devo 5: Safe

Love is the core to God’s nature. Everything He is and does come from love. It’s not a decision He has to make; it’s simply who He is.

Over the last several weeks Psalms 91 has been an incredible scripture that we have all been praying and declaring in our lives. If you are not familiar with that Psalm, it’s worth taking a pause from reading this devotional, opening it up, and reading it.

That Psalm starts off by declaring that he who lives in the shelter of God, abides in the shadow of the Almighty. On day 1 of the devotional, our verse of the day was 1 John 4:16. The last part of the verse reads,

Those who are living in love are living in God, and God lives through them.

Isn’t that a beautiful cross-reference to Psalm 91:1. Living in God is living in love, specifically His love.

I encourage you to find your home in love because when you live in love, you live in God. As we see in Psalm 91, when we live in God, that we find God’s strength and safety.

  • Your safety is wrapped in God’s love. (Psalm 91:1)
  • Your refuge is wrapped in God’s love. (Psalm 91:2)
  • In His love, you are covered (Psalm 91:4).

Verse of the Day

I encourage you to read and pray Psalm 91, but today we highlight verse 1.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

Psalm 91:1 (NASM)

Prayer of the Day

Father, I rest in your love for me knowing that it is the safest place I can be. You are my refuge, my shield, my fortress. Your wings shelter me as I sit in the safety of Your love. As you continue to reveal Your extravagant love for me, may I accept and receive the fullness of Your love so that I find my home in You.
