Live Love Devo 1: Intro

God is Love

We have come into an intimate experience with God’s love, and we trust in the love He has for us. God is love! Those who are living in love are living in God, and God lives through them.

1 John 4:16

I have the amazing privilege to work from home.  One simple morning, I wake up, log-on to work, and check my Facebook.  I had been deactivated my facebook for a few months before this morning, but this particular day I decided to go back on.  My dad had shared a video of my sister-in-law, Becca, singing the song At The Cross by Chris Tomlin.  I turned my speakers up, pressed play, and went into my kitchen to cook my usual breakfast.  As I preheated my pan and grabbed my eggs and veggies, this male vocalist began singing.  I was vaguely familiar with the song, so was humming along.

Suddenly, as my Becca began singing, I felt such a strong anointing that I became overwhelmed by God’s love. I began crying and fell to my knees, right in front of my stove.  I could feel God hover over me and embrace me while I heard the sound of people praying for me.  There I was in my kitchen, on my knees, weeping while God wrapped me in His loving embrace, revealing the depths of His love, and allowing me the privilege to hear prayers said on my behalf.

I did nothing to deserve such a beautiful life-altering experience, but God met me where I was at.  Until today I cry when I hear that song.  Thankfully it’s on YouTube and it’s very common for me to listen to it.  Since then they re-recorded that song to improve the quality, but nothing compares to the version I originally heard.  As soon as Becca opens her mouth to sing, the anointing of the Holy Spirit is palpable.  It’s amazing how anointing can be felt through media.

I know that the Father loves you just as much as He loves me and His desire is that you experience the depths of His love that provides transformation change. Through this devotional, I will help guide you on a journey of discovering the love of God. I can’t tell you that you will have the same experience as I did, but I can guarantee that if you seek the Father’s love, He will provide you with a life-changing experience that will draw you into a deeper, more intimate, relationship with Him.

Verse of the Day

We have come into an intimate experience with God’s love, and we trust in the love He has for us. God is love! Those who are living in love are living in God, and God lives through them.

1 John 4:16 (tPt)

Prayer of the Day

Father, your love is so magnificent. It’s rich, deep, and transformational. My desire is that I have an intimate experience with your pure love allowing me to receive the revelation of who You truly are. May Your love embrace and overwhelm my entire being. I draw closer to You knowing that You will draw near to me. May I be more aware of Your presence and perceive Your love for me, personally. Open my eyes and ears to hear what you are saying and cause my senses to perceive you so that I may recognize when you are speaking to me. In the loving name of Jesus. Amen

Song of the Day

Today we have 2 songs. The first is the song that was playing when God encountered me in my kitchen. The second is a song that was recently shared with me. This song perfectly describes the morning His love embraced me.
